Where does our firewood come from?
Our firewood is sourced from throughout the Tasman region, with logs supplied by local forestry companies such as OFO, Tasman Pine, and PFO, as well as local landowners who require trees to be removed or cleared.
Most of the logs used for firewood come from the lower-grade portions of a tree. Higher-value timber is typically exported or processed into lumber and other timber products, while the remaining material is repurposed into firewood rather than being left unused.
Sustainability is an important part of what we do. We make extensive use of forestry by-products, lower-grade timber, and bin wood that might otherwise be left on the forest floor or discarded. By processing this material into firewood, we help maximise the use of every harvested tree and reduce unnecessary waste.
This approach not only helps reduce waste but also gives our customers confidence that the firewood they purchase is making use of a resource that has already been harvested, rather than requiring additional trees to be felled solely for firewood production.
